zappas prim & improper

Working alongside one of the more sexier elements of this seasons fashion, being lingerie 'camisole tops', combining hair to fit in with the total look. Experimenting with texture and gloss, glamour and grunge and early 80's/90's feel for today's younger woman. Definitely not 'all or nothing' more a 'little or a lot' - something for every client.
Provocative lingerie with classic feminine hair. Combining prim hair with sexy seductive underwear, creating prim & improper.

zappas venus in fur

There will be days when you hanker to throw on your gypsy skirt and peasant blouse, go nautical, à la Jean Paul Gaultier or, take your fashionista statement from Dolce & Gabbana and go very glam!
If you're longing to release your inner-animal; this sexy and very sassy look could be the one you should be adopting. (Actually we have to say, that whilst our styling has followed this very edgy, wild-child D&G look; we know that these hairstyles look equally head-turning when worn Boho or chic, sea-girl-style.)
These looks show that movement and curl are still making a strong statement, worn always in an un-contrived, slightly messy way, but never frizzy! Maintain this look with Catwalk Curls Rock Curly Hair Shampoo and Conditioner and a spritz of Curls Rock Leave-In Moisturizer...if you are a real curly head. Otherwise get some help to create your look with some Catwalk Sexed-Up Body building Shampoo and Conditioner, Sexed-Up Body building Tonic and Catwalk Extra Strong Mousse. This may be a style that smacks Hollywood or Côte d'Azur glamour, but it's all about to hit us in Europe, so don't be afraid to get that up-to-the-moment finish with some very modern products such as Bed Head Hard To Get Paste. Take a five-pence size piece into the palm of one hand, soften it with your finger tips and then apply lightly to the ends. This will give you a defined texture and separation.

Not everyone wants to take the curly route and there are certainly options. Heavy fringes, geometric shapes and sharp versions of the bob look good and contemporary when styled with the right products.
Choice of product is very much dependent on your hair's texture, so talk to your hairdresser to see what he recommends. Catwalk Fashionista Smooth & Shine is great to use on hair that has been coloured and hair that is inclined to frizz. Bed Head Headbanger is great for adding texture and Bed Head After-Party is a cool way to control and re-vitalise your hair. For the ultimate finish, try misting Bed Head Headrush over your hair...you'll be amazed at the immaculate shine you'll achieve. So if you are a girl who loves summer then these looks are definitely designed to bring out the Venus in you!

zappas porcelain collection

This season, the Zappas Artistic Team have come up with a really beautiful new collection entitled ‘Porcelain’. We shot the images with top hairdressing photographer, Anthony Mascolo and over the next few months we’ll be sending out these pictures to hair consumer and trade magazines all over the world.

The Porcelain Collection shows a lady-like feminine quality. Our new looks are chic with a twist and are aimed to be translated into our daily salon work with a pared-down version that is individual and ‘of the moment’. Key to this collection is Texture and Movement – less sleek – more boho. Our technical team have been experimenting with colour and are recommending ‘under colour’ contrasts to work with these new shapes. Mixing dark colours with light – enhance movement and depth. Bold, mixed with subtle tones creates exciting new feels to make colour tones more exciting this season.

So if you want to be a modern-day Cameo, ask for a consultation and see how the Porcelain Collection can be translated for your own personal look.

zappas silver collection - autumn/winter 2003

Gorgeously Gamine

If it’s a low-maintenance, high-impact look you’re after, this is the style for you. The rich colour and cropped texture is a sure winner for the summer. easy to style, it’ll look great on the beach as well as in the bar.

Glamorously Funky

Glamour is big news for the summer so get on board and join the jet-set. Hair has movement and attitude and the great news is, once you’ve got the right cut, the rest is easy!

Sexily Sleek

Transform yourself into a seductive 21st century siren with super-sleek hair. The soft layering and subtle side parting make for a winning combination.

Fabulously Feathered

This relaxed style and wonderful colour will transform anyone into the ultimate beach babe. The slightly off-centre parting and funky fringe, teamed with the soft feathered cut put this look in a totally relaxed mood.

zappas grown-up grunge - autumn/winter 2003

Get grungy in the best possible way.

This is glamorous grunge with a healthy looking shine and a drop-dead attitude. razored fringes, pumped up volume and show-stopping colours, this is moody, sexy hair.

zappas touchy feely textures - autumn/winter 2002/3

Chunky knits are big news this season and so zappas has taken inspiration from the likes of Stella McCartney and Miu Miu to play with textures in fabric and hair. for blondes, think the elfish Lord of the Rings look, a truly magical take on hair. leather, another cool texture for A/W has been wound into hair to give extra effect and untied plaits give a rippled effect to hair. teamed with the essential chunky knit, this look is definitely a winner.

Colours are warm this season with coppers and red taking the limelight. Go for a long, heavy fringe to skim and almost conceal eyes. This look is fun and hair as a certain glow about it. the wispy, warm red pieces compliment the knitwear to make this look very coordinated and very now.

Rich chocolates are the perfect look for the autumn season. Rich and indulgent, they are great for clothes as well as hair. If you’re a brunette, opt for a deep cocoa look. the hair is very Joan of Arc - the short, blunt fringe has a strength and direction that makes a bold statement.

Molten silver is a stunning shade to opt for this season. Models at Chanel and Armani wore it like a suit of armour. Tone the look down for daywear with a great chunky silver jumper and team with a rich hair colour. hair is left long and loose for a soft, textured feel. The fringe is worn long and the lengths are left wavy and free. A totally liberating look that’s as light as a breath of fresh air.

zappas precious glamour - autumn/winter 2002/3

Precious metals rock, think opulence and exuberance. Fashion is over-the-top and elegant. this collection focuses on silvers, pinks, purples and all things that sparkle. Make your hair shine too with one of these great looks from zappas.

The side parting is a strong look for autumn and an easy one to create at home. Update a long hairstyle with an ultra-modern side parting, just slick and flick! to glam it up, frame the eyes in kohl and stain the lips with a deep plum.

For an alternative look for the festivities, funk it up with a low-slung side knot. Texturise hair to give it a rougher edge. again, opt for the essential parting but this time add an extra element. corn-dolly plaits look pretty and are a sexy twist you can add at home. Team with silver, a snow-drop dress and it ‘s a look for pure glamour.

Give your hair the superstar look with a feathery style for Christmas. Feathery cuts are the style du jour and can update a longhaired look instantly. This is the height of sex appeal and the over-long fringe adds an extra dimension.

For the more daring out there, go for the chop and give yourself the elfin look. Short and choppy, simple and neat, this look can be easily dressed-up and accessorised in this season’s precious gems for an added touch of glamour. Simply perfect!

zappas fringes & feathers - autumn/winter 2002/3

zappas new horizons - spring/summer 2002/3

The zappas artistic team always strive to develop new cutting and colouring techniques that will set new trends for the forthcoming season. their collection for spring summer 03 does just that - it combines wearable looks with the very best in hairdressing expertise. Here zappas introduces the key looks from their new horizons collection.

Red flash lights, this is hair with attitude and combines a sharp, straight cut with this season’s ultimate colour, red. celebrities have been incorporating a flash of red in their wardrobe for summer; spiky heels, bucket bags, pretty corsages and hip-skimming belts. So why not go one stage further and incorporate red into your hair. this look is really daring and scorching hot!

Mocha chocca latte, coffee and chocolately tones are coming back in a big way this season. Rather than opt for a solid all over colour, lighten things up with softer shades mixed in with some darker pieces. Fringes are still big news, so this look combines all that is right with hair for summer - intermixed colour with a great cut.

Mermaid movement, messy mermaid hair splashed all over the catwalks for spring summer. here hair cascades down into tumbling textured curls. Armani and Dolce & Gabbana both showed girls with scrunched up waves for a flirty take on the curl. It’s the summer and sexy, flirty hair with a relaxed attitude is where it’s at.

1960’s rock chick, whether straight or curly, coloured or natural, this season hair needs to be groomed and gorgeous. this look gives you volume and a bit of a bouffant ‘do’ that’s not too prima donna. Wear hair more dishevelled and sexy for the summer girls with a curl can ditch those straightening irons. Colour is subtle but highly radiant for that 60’s glamorous rock chick image. It’s sexy and wearable, sassy and side-swept and it’s one of this season’s hottest looks.

Gorgeous grunge, asymmetric attitude with a healthy looking shine. If you fancy a striking new look that’ll turn heads this is the hair for you. the cheek-skimming, over-long fringe really makes a statement and the longer panels toward the back show that punk never really died. Such a strong, directional cut is teamed with a very natural and warm colour to give a look that’s Seattle grunge mixed with god-damn gorgeous!
