How long have you been in hairdressing?
I have worked for Zappas for four years now, I started off as a Saturday girl and then come full time and done all of my training with Zappas and qualified a year ago and I love it
Why did you choose to be a hairdresser?
I chose to be a hairdresser as I always wanted to do it from when I was young and i always loved doing peoples hair, and as i done my training I kept loving it even more.
What do you specialise in, i.e., colour, hair-up?
I don’t specialise in just one thing I can do colour, cutting, hair up, perms so everything. I really enjoy doing a combination of everything because it makes it more exciting and i think just specialising in one thing would become a little bit boring after a while
What do you like about working for Zappas?
I love meeting new people every day and I really love the team that I work with. Also i train the Saturday assistants every Wednesday over at our Crowthorne salon, and I really enjoy doing that because not only does it refresh my memory, it makes me feel like I am giving something back because I have been there before and had to learn it all
What/who motivates you?
I get motivated when I see other peoples work when they do different things because it puts ideas in my head of what I can do. I like it when we go to courses where they show you different cuts to do to create different looks, or different ways to style hair for example; it’s very small things that can make a massive difference to your look
What courses and qualifications in hairdressing have you achieved?
I have done my level 1 and 2 in hairdressing and am currently doing my level 3 at the moment, I have done cutting courses up in Tigi in London which was really good to do. I have completed a customer service course, and I am going to be doing the L’Oreal professional colour degree up in London for 15 weeks very soon which I am really excited about
