The Latest News About Re-Opening Zappas Hair Salons in Berkshire & Hampshire

With our salons preparing to open on 12th April 2021 following the lockdown, we would like to share the latest client information at Zappas Hair Salons in Berkshire & Hampshire. 

Skin Allergy Testing

Please note that due to our long closure, you will be required to have a skin test at least 48 hours prior to your hair colour appointment with us. Please also advise your Zappas stylist if you have had any medical changes, have coloured your hair at home or believe you may have had Covid-19. 

The "New Normal" at Zappas Hair Salons

The team at Zappas have undergone extensive training throughout this challenging year, so we are all up-to-date on social distancing and hygiene requirements. 

A visit to your local Zappas Hair Salon in the future might look like this...

Imagine our salon with fewer clients, with high levels of social distancing, and enjoying an end to end service at the hands of one Zappas stylist.

We have been proactive in getting PPE into all of the salons during the closures, as well as carrying out detailed risk assessments to see how we can improve further.

Some additional safety measures that we have in the Zappas salons include :

~ Masks and disposable gloves are to be provided for every client - we have added a small cost of £2 per client to help towards supplying these.

~ A heat temperature check and hand sanitiser for safe entry on arrival.

~ All equipment will be sterilised fully between clients and the Zappas team have all had barbicide training. 

~ Perspex protection screens have been fitted at reception, at the styling stations and at every backwash chair.

~ Staff  will be wearing full PPE, following Government guidelines.

~ You will be asked to use hand sanitiser before being given a fresh gown and towels. All gowns and towels will be washed after each client. 

~ If you wish, you can sanitise your hands again using the bottle that is conveniently placed at your freshly sanitised styling station. 

We are unable to offer refreshments but you are welcome to bring in your own drinks (no alcohol please). We will also no longer have magazines available in salon but you can always use your kindle, tablet or phone for entertainment.  We also ask that clients come for their appointments alone.  Carers may, of course, accompany their children or dependents for appointments and can use our sanitised waiting areas (where the seats will be 2 metres apart).

At the end of your appointment we are sure you will be thrilled with your hair (those pesky roots will no longer be showing!)  You will be asked to pay at our sanitised till area, preferably by card or Apple Pay. The PDQ machines will also be sanitised between payments. 

You will be invited to remove your PPE and put it in the pedal bin before putting your coat back on and leaving the salon. 

The salons will be cleaned regularly and daily, with a deep cleaning every evening. We will continue cleaning the salons to their usual high standard and use anti-bacterial spray on door handles, handrails, toilet flushes, taps and other areas of multiple contact throughout the day.
