Massive congratulations to our talented Zappas team in Fleet who beat stiff competition from hundreds of other salons to be named one of four Southern Regional Finalists in the prestigious L’Oreal Colour Trophy Awards.
The team will now go on to the Grand Final at Battersea Evolution in London on June 5th where the overall winner will be announced.
Team Director Leah Miles and Senior Stylist Billy Walters came up with the winning look for Salon Assistant Leah Ruffell after being inspired by a 1960s image of model Jean Shrimpton.
Leah explains: “I found an editorial image of Jean Shrimpton by David Bailey. Her hair had an interesting shape and shine, with a heavy fringe. We decided to give this a modern twist with a harder fringe and precision waves, but still maintaining high shine.”
Billy created Leah’s hair style, which then inspired Leah to add the colour. She adds: “I always feel that colour accentuates shape or texture within a haircut and can give an interesting focal point.” Leah wanted the hair colour to be a cool tone with teal green and violet through the fringe and on the curves of the waves, drawing the eye and creating movement and softness.
